Baker McKenzie has advised ERIKS, a leading industrial component expert, on the acquisition of key businesses of the REIFF Group. The transaction was completed on 15 December.
Dr. Jan Schubert, lead partner on the transaction, commented, “Thanks to our cross-practice group and cross-country team, we were able to help our client complete the transaction very quickly and successfully.”
ERIKS is a component provider for industrial products and processes, especially sealings, gaskets, valves, hoses and other components used for rotation and flow control. Leveraging their extensive application know-how, ERIKS supports industrial customers by designing, engineering and supplying solutions that improve their performance. ERIKS currently has subsidiaries in 10 countries, with a strong position in Europe as well as a presence in Asia, and employs 3000 qualified staff members worldwide.
The REIFF Group is a family-owned company focused on trading activities in Germany. The REIFF Group offers a wide range of products in the fields of drive, fluid and sealing technology, as well as rubber and plastic applications. With the takeover by ERIKS, the goal of preserving the company in the long term was achieved and operations are able to continue in full.
Baker McKenzie’s Corporate/M&A practice regularly advises on national and international transactions. Most recently, Baker McKenzie advised AURELIUS on the acquisition of Landis+Gyr’s EMEA business, JD.com on the acquisition of Ceconomy, and Lyft on the acquisition of FreeNow.
