Ariane Schaaf is a counsel in the Customs & Indirect Tax practice of the Firm’s Frankfurt office. She advises national and international companies on all value added tax related matters. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie in January 2011, she worked for KPMG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft as a member of the indirect tax services team in Frankfurt for more than three years.
Ariane practice focuses on VAT efficient restructuring, mergers and acquisitions (including post-deal services) and financial services. Moreover, she advises on the settlement of VAT disputes, providing support during tax audits as well as drafting and examining VAT clauses for sales and purchase agreements or service agreements. Ariane also handles the preparation of claims, appeals, expert opinions and applications for binding ruling.
