As part of our corporate social responsibility efforts in North America, we offer our Diversity Fellowship to minority candidates. This program furthers our commitment to recruit, retain, and develop talented lawyers who will contribute to the advancement of diversity within the Firm and the legal community.

Applicants must meet the academic and hiring criteria of Baker McKenzie’s United States and Toronto summer associate programs, receive an offer of summer employment for their second-year summer and be a member of the population that has been historically underrepresented in the legal profession. Successful recipients receive US$10,000 and a paid summer associate position after completing the second year of law school.

Candidates interested in this opportunity need to complete the application and attach their resume, a copy of their undergraduate and law school transcripts, and a 500-word personal statement for consideration. Please note the application cycle for the 2018 fellowship has concluded.  We will consider applicants for the 2019 fellowship starting July 1, 2018.

All queries about the program can be directed to the Diversity Fellowship mailbox.
