Baker McKenzie is further expanding its Corporate M&A/PE practice with Johannes Baumann as Partner. He joins from Hengeler Mueller to the Frankfurt office of Baker McKenzie.

Johannes Baumann advises on complex M&A transactions, including carve-outs and restructurings, as well as on corporate law, representing companies and private equity funds. One focus of his advice is on complex structural measures, corporate governance issues and shareholder matters.

Most recently, Johannes Baumann advised Schneider Electric on the sale of VinZero, industrial gases specialist Messer on the complete takeover of the Messer Industries joint venture and on the agreement of a long-term strategic partnership with GIC and EPH on the attempted acquisition of the STEAG energy group.

In Frankfurt, the law firm was recently able to attract corporate expert Dr. Katharina Stüber in March 2022. In Munich, Baker McKenzie is continuously expanding its private equity practice with a team led by Berthold Hummel, who joined Baker McKenzie in 2018. Most currently, Baker McKenzie strengthened its private equity practice in Munich in October 2021 with Dr. Jakub Lorys.

In January 2021, Joachim Ponseck joined Baker McKenzie's restructuring and insolvency practice in Frankfurt as partner and Prof. Dr. Artur Swierczok as counsel.

All laterals decided to join Baker McKenzie from other renowned transaction law firms in the market.
