Biography
Dr. iur. Constantin Rehaag M.A. is a partner in Baker McKenzie’s Frankfurt office and head of the German practice group intellectual property. He advises clients on complex intellectual property, unfair competition and trade secrets matters. He has more than 19 years’ experience representing national and international companies in high stakes litigation and crisis driven disputes, frequently with a cross border dimension.
Constantin is recognised for his strategic approach to contentious IP matters, his extensive courtroom experience before German courts at all instances and his ability to coordinate parallel proceedings across jurisdictions and his deep experience in matters that are related to AI and intellectual property. He regularly speaks and publishes on IP related topics and teaches judges and prosecutors in specialised training programmes.
Practice Focus
Constantin focuses on contentious intellectual property matters, including trademark, design, copyright and patent litigation, as well as the protection and enforcement of trade secrets. He is recognised for his excellent strategic insight in trademark portfolio development and management, advising clients on filing, prosecution and enforcement strategies aligned with their broader commercial and enforcement objectives.
In addition to court proceedings, he has vast experience representing clients before intellectual property offices, notably in opposition, cancellation and appeal proceedings at both national and European level. He regularly represents clients before German courts at all instances and coordinates parallel proceedings across jurisdictions. His practice spans the pharmaceutical, technology, e commerce, luxury goods, aviation and manufacturing sectors.

- Represented a market leading pharmaceutical company in a complex cross-border patent and trademark litigation as well as in related criminal proceedings.
- Represented a global e commerce company in trademark and antitrust litigation, successfully defending the matter through multiple instances up to the German Federal Court of Justice.
- Acted for a leading pharmaceutical company in the implementation and enforcement of a comprehensive trade secrets protection programme across several business units.
- Defended a market leading manufacturer in complex patent infringement and nullity proceedings, coordinating civil litigation and technical defence strategies.
- Represented international fashion and luxury goods brands in cross border anti counterfeiting matters involving civil, criminal and customs enforcement.
- Advised a technology company on trade secret theft by a former executive, including litigation, criminal proceedings and asset recovery measures.
- Acted for a multinational entertainment company in copyright and unfair competition disputes relating to digital exploitation models.
