Baker McKenzie advises KBC Securities, part of the KBC Group, on the formation and regulatory aspects of a joint venture with Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Banking, combining their equity research, sales, sales-trading, trading and Equity Capital Markets (ECM) execution activities. The joint venture will support the investment banking activities of both KBC Securities and Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Banking, to deliver value to corporate and institutional clients.
The new entity will be the exclusive distribution channel for all ECM business for the respective clients of Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Banking and KBC Securities. KBC Securities and Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Banking will each hold a 50% shareholding in the new joint venture, the incorporation of which is subject to regulatory approval. Both parties will continue to be engaged in client coverage in respect of ECM transactions and to independently offer corporate finance services, including M&A advice.
