Biography

Dr. Sebastian F. Pfrang is a senior associate in Baker McKenzie's Frankfurt office. In 2026 he also practiced for 6 months in the Firm’s London office. Sebastian was recognized as “Best Lawyers: One to Watch” for labor and employment law by Best Lawyers/Handelsblatt in its 2027 edition for Germany. Sebastian is a lecturer at the University of Tuebingen and regularly publishes on a wide range of matters, in particular with regard to employment, labor and pensions law.

Prior to joining the Firm, Sebastian studied at the universities of Tuebingen and Heidelberg and graduated from the University of Heidelberg in 2015. After graduation, Sebastian worked as a research assistant at the legal chair of civil, trade, business and labor law, and received a doctorate (Dr. iur.) from the University of Tuebingen in 2019. Sebastian spent his legal traineeship in the jurisdiction of the Higher Regional Court Karlsruhe. As part of his legal traineeship, he worked inter alia with the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information in Stuttgart, Germany, and the legal department of a chemical company in London, UK. Sebastian passed his assessor exam in 2020.

Practice Focus

Sebastian advises domestic and international clients on all labor and employment law-related matters, particularly in conjunction with mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, works council and union issues. His tasks include representation of his clients in and out of court, e.g. with respect to termination of employment and contract disputes. Sebastian also focuses on pension law matters as well as data protection law in the context of labor and employment relations.
