Dr. Markus Hecht joined Baker McKenzie’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in Frankfurt as an associate in February 2014. Prior to this, he was a law clerk in the same practice group for more than one and a half years. During that time, Mr. Hecht completed his doctoral thesis on IP infringements in Social Media Company Profiles and obtained a doctorate degree in law from the University of Wuerzburg.
Mr. Hecht already focused on intellectual property law and private international and procedural law during his legal clerkship as well as during his studies. As a law student, he worked at the legal chair of Prof. Dr. Andreas Voßkuhle, President of the German Federal Constitutional Court, for more than five years and completed internships at major international law firms.
Mr. Hecht's practice covers all areas of intellectual property law, particularly trademark and unfair competition law – both litigation and advice – as well as domain name disputes. He also focuses on assisting the Frankfurt office's worldwide trademark portfolios and trademark enforcement.
