Biography

Daisy is an associate in the Employment & Compensation department of Baker McKenzie's London office. She joined the department as a paralegal in 2018, before beginning her training contract with the firm in 2020. As part of her training contract Daisy spent time in the Tax, Banking and Employment & Compensation departments, as well as a six month secondment to the EMEA Employment Legal team of a financial institution. Since qualifying as an Associate in March 2022 Daisy has advised global and UK based clients on a wide variety of employment law matters including complex litigation and global projects.

Practice Focus

Daisy advises international organisations on a wide variety of contentious, advisory and transactional employment law matters across a variety of sectors including banking and financial services, media, technology, retail and utilities. Daisy has been closely involved in high value and complex employment litigation involving both individual and group claimants, including injunctions and at appellate level. Her advisory work has included day-to-day HR/ER advisory matters and high profile investigations, and she has advised on global employment projects including restructurings, carve-outs and M&A.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Acted for Emerson Electric Co on the international employment aspects of its sale of its Climate Technologies business for USD 14 billion to Blackstone, including the carveout of the workforce, which comprised over 20,000 employees across 44 jurisdictions.
  • Assisting in the defence of a global financial services company for multiple complex, high value employment disputes (some with an international dimension) brought by senior individuals including elements of discrimination, victimisation and harassment.
  • Assisting with an investigation into high profile allegations of serious sexual and non-sexual misconduct at a large organisation.
  • Advising a private hire company in relation to over 500 misclassification claims brought by current and former drivers seeking to challenge the Company's business model.
  • Assisting in the defence of Trade Union backed claims against a utilities client arising from pay negotiations within the context of the cost of living crisis.
  • Advised a multinational consumer healthcare company on the employment and data protection aspects of their strategic global initiatives for diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Advising a global technology company on internationally coordinated industrial action around high profile events.
  • Assisting on high court matters, such as injunctions and associated pre-claim advice regarding the enforcement or defeat of post-termination restraints.
  • Advising on the introduction of new contractual terms across a global organisation.
  • Providing a wide variety of day-to-day employment advice with a domestic and international focus for clients including a global retail brand and a unionised manufacturing client.
