Baker McKenzie advises BMW in legal dispute with Aumovio

Baker McKenzie advised and represented Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft (“BMW”) in several court proceedings relating to an integrated braking system. BMW has now settled the proceedings with Aumovio Germany GmbH (“Aumovio”). Aumovio emerged from the spin-off of Continental AG’s automotive business and supplies the braking system.

The settlement provides for a payment of EUR 350 million to BMW and concludes all pending proceedings relating to the warranty case. In addition, BMW and Aumovio have entered into a long-term supply and development agreement focused on close collaboration, including on braking technologies and electronic solutions for future vehicle platforms.
