Biography

Dr. Annette Keilmann has more than 15 years of experience in domestic and international commercial litigation and arbitration. She advises on dispute resolution, and regularly supports clients in matters mostly relating to construction and contracts for works and services. She frequently publishes articles on international arbitration as well as on construction disputes and lectures on conducting negotiations at the University of Mannheim. She has been named as stand-out lawyer in the 2018 and 2021 Acritas Stars reports and is listed in The Best Lawyers in Germany edition for Litigation since 2022.

Practice Focus

Annette advises and represents clients in disputes, mainly relating to construction and the engineering industry. While her advisory activity includes proceedings before German courts, she focuses on arbitration cases, most notably in the area of plant construction and infrastructure projects.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Represented a major global technology company in an ICC arbitration about an infrastructure project (value of matter in dispute estimated at more than EUR 3 billion).
  • Acted for two German multinational companies in arbitration proceedings related to the construction of offshore wind farms.
  • Leads and supervises a team defending a major automobile manufacturer in a mass litigation regarding alleged manipulation of diesel cars. 
  • Represented a German power plant owner in a DIS arbitration about defects of major plant components (amount in dispute EUR 100 million).
  • Advised a British international company in the energy sector in litigation cases over the termination of a project.
