Baker McKenzie client ALDI today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket as part of a larger divestiture of Southeastern Grocers to various entities. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

ALDI is one of America’s fastest-growing retailers, serving millions of customers across the United States each month. Southeastern Grocers is one of the largest conventional supermarket companies in the United States, serving customers in brick-and-mortar grocery stores, liquor stores and in-store pharmacies as well as online with convenient grocery delivery and curbside pickup throughout.

The acquisition includes approximately 400 stores operated by Southeastern Grocers in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida where 75% of the stores are located.
