
Ryan McGrath
Biography
Ryan is an associate in Baker McKenzie's Antitrust & Competition team in London. He joined Baker McKenzie in September 2022 and has a strong focus on competition and antitrust law, including multijurisdictional merger control, foreign direct investment and foreign subsidies. He is an England and Wales qualified lawyer and has previously spent time with Baker McKenzie's Brussels office.
Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Ryan worked for the UK Competition and Markets Authority where he was involved with a number of UK Phase 1 investigations in a range of industries including retail road fuel, online gambling, aviation, logistics, online travel agencies and CRM software. Ryan also spent time as a member of the UK Mergers Intelligence Committee.

- Advised Alphatheta Corporation on the acquisition of Serato Audio Research Limited at Phase 1 and Phase 2 in front of the UK Competition and Markets Authority.
- Advised Shell Group on its acquisition of Pavilion Energy in front of the European Commission, Japan FTC, Korean FTC, and Turkish Competition Authority, as well as successfully engaging with the UK CMA.
- Represented a global manufacturer of construction chemicals in the dawn raid conducted by the UK Competition and Markets Authority in 2023.
