Basile J. Manikas
Biography
Basile Manikas is an associate in Baker McKenzie’s Tax Practice Group based in Chicago. He represents and advises multinational companies on a full range of state and local tax controversy, planning, and consulting.
Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Basile worked at global tax advisory firms for several years with a primary focus on state and local tax for multinational corporations and flow-through entities. Specifically, Basile performed and led state and local income and indirect tax due diligence on M&A, spin-offs, reorganizations, and restructuring transactions. Basile has worked on a wide variety of industries such as manufacturing, software/technology, healthcare, real property holding, and marketing.
In law school, Basile was the Editor for the International Law Review journal and Consumer Law journal, served as the Director of Tax for the Business Law Society and Vice President of the Hellenic Bar Association and also received Tax and Transactional certificates.
