Biography

Tania Karmeinsky is an associate in the Antitrust & Competition practice of Baker McKenzie's London office. She is an EU-qualified lawyer with a focus on competition and antitrust law, including multijurisdictional merger control and foreign investment review. Tania joined Baker McKenzie in September 2020 and has previously spent time with the Firm's Barcelona office.

Practice Focus

Tania focuses on all aspects of EU and UK competition law, including multijurisdictional merger control, cartel investigations, prohibited practices, and competition compliance. She also advises clients on foreign investment review and represents them in proceedings before the Spanish and UK authorities.

Her experience spans a wide range of sectors, including aerospace, private equity, consumer goods and retail, industrials, telecommunications, and life sciences.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised Safran, an engine and aircraft equipment company, on its proposed acquisition of the actuation and flight controls activities of Collins Aerospace, an RTX business.
  • Advised Kantar Group, a leading global market research company and portfolio company of Bain Capital, on the sale of Kantar Media to H.I.G. Capital.
  • Advised Shell Group on cross-border merger control and foreign investment filings in connection with its acquisition of Pavilion Energy.
  • Advising a global manufacturer of construction chemicals in multiple investigations into alleged breaches of competition law across several jurisdictions.
  • Advised Kohlberg & Company, a private equity firm, on merger control and foreign investment filings related to its acquisition of Worldwide Clinical Trials, a global full-service contract research organization.
  • Advised Platinum Equity on global merger control and foreign investment work for several transactions, including: the acquisition of Diversey (via portfolio company Solenis), a provider of hygiene and cleaning solutions; the acquisition of the high temperature solutions business from Imerys; the acquisition of Hop Lun, a global fashion lingerie and swimwear company.
  • Advised a multinational telecommunications company before the Spanish foreign investment authority for its USD 1.8 billion acquisition of the EMEA business of another multinational telecommunications company.
  • Advised ICU Medical, a medical technology company, on foreign investment in Spain for its USD 2.35 billion acquisition of the Smiths Medical division from Smiths Group.
  • Advised a global fashion business in a cross-border investigation into industry-wide collaboration to pursue sustainability objectives.
