Biography

Raised in Hong Kong, Gordon moved to Cambridge University to complete his postgraduate Master of Corporate Law (MCL) degree in 2017. Before working as a trainee solicitor at Baker McKenzie's London office, Gordon worked as a paralegal and intern in Hong Kong, Shanghai, London and Italy.

Gordon also passed the US bar exam and became a New York-qualified lawyer in 2021. He further qualified in England and Wales in March 2023. In addition to practicing law, Gordon has published two book chapters by Springer and over six articles in a range of peer-reviewed law journals in Europe and Asia.

Practice Focus

Gordon's practice focuses on cross-border M&A and complex, multi-jurisdictional carve-outs, as well as general corporate law matters.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised multiple US, European and UK clients on the internal corporate reorganization across their group structures, including various share and asset transfers relating to UK entities.
  • Advised multiple US clients on the due diligence aspects of their acquisition of various UK entities.
  • Acted for Ingram Micro on the USD 3 billion divestment of its Commerce & Lifecycle Services business division to Ceva Logistics (CMA CGM).
  • Advised Boyd Corporation on its acquisition of the Thermal Test and Controls Business of Sensata Technologies, Inc.
  • Advised a US network security company on the carve-out of the governance, risk and compliance (‘GRC’) software business.
  • Advised a Latin America-based global multi-energy company on the sale of its shares in a Venezuelan entity and its participating interest in a chemical exploration project.

Corporate Responsibility

  • Worked as a pro bono intern for Baker McKenzie's London office for 4 months on the Legal Atlas Project for Street Youth, an online database documenting street child law across the globe (2021).
  • Assisted in a firm-wide pro bono project which involves preparing summaries of climate change litigation cases at EU level (2021).
  • Delivered a negotiation workshop for a PRIME day on behalf of Baker McKenzie's London Corporate M&A team (12 April 2022).
  • Serving as a mentor for the City Solicitors Horizons programme with SEO London on behalf of Baker McKenzie (2021 - 2024).
  • Deliver a negotiation workshop for the SEO London event on behalf of Baker McKenzie (19 July 2022).
