De Goudse Verzekeringen has agreed to acquire the insurance portfolio of AFOS Zevenwouden U.A. (Zevenwouden), including its insurance broker Noorderlinge verzekeraars.
This strategic step positions the company to further strengthen its presence as a regional label while continuing to deliver the high quality products and services expected by its customers, as well as independent advisers and delegated underwriting partners.
Following completion of the transaction, Zevenwouden and Noorderlinge verzekeraars will continue their operations under the name De Noorderlinge as part of De Goudse. While the name will change, the identity, regional focus, and office location in Leeuwarden will remain the same. The acquisition is pending regulatory approval. The intended transfer date is July 1, 2026.
Baker McKenzie Amsterdam advises Zevenwouden and Noorderlinge verzekeraars on all legal matters related to this transaction and this transaction adds to Baker McKenzie’s continued track record advising on complex Dutch insurance transactions, including portfolio transfers and regulated M&A. The Baker McKenzie team was led by Mo Almarini, and included Renske Boesten, Alexis Gavriilidis, Daan Paquay, Tim Alferink, Willem van Rees, Thijs Bogaers, and Lotte Dümmer.
