Baker McKenzie announces the appointment of a new local partner, Paolo Galli, and three new counsel, Elisa Impalà, Federica Longo, and Giacinto Zampetti.

Paolo Galli, a member of the IP & Technology Practice Group, provides assistance (both contractual and litigation) in the areas of media, advertising (including television and regulatory aspects) and intellectual property, including copyright and related rights, distinctive sign rights and competition law. 
Paolo regularly advises leading industry and primary international media companies and is involved on an almost daily basis in his clients' relationships with major Italian and foreign rights holders and local regulatory authorities. 
Paolo joins us from Sky Italia, where he was responsible for content acquisitions, management of copyright and IP rights issues and litigation, after a long professional career in universities and boutique firms. 

Elisa Impalà, a member of the Corporate M&A Practice Group, assists with corporate reorganizations, mergers, spin-offs, carve-outs, sales and acquisitions, and general corporate counseling and governance. 
Elisa assists clients in structuring, implementing and project managing complex reorganizations (including cross-border), cross-border carve-outs, pre-sale reorganizations, post-acquisition integration projects, and general corporate transformations and/or conversions. Elisa has experience managing transactions in multiple industries, including retail and consumer goods, fashion, computers and software, medical products and devices, telecommunications, chemicals and regulated sectors.

Federica Longo,
a member of the Corporate M&A Practice Group, has significant experience in cross-border and domestic acquisitions, post-acquisition reorganizations and integrations, joint ventures, and capital market transactions. Federica regularly assists leading multinational industrial groups, private equity and real estate funds, as well as listed Italian groups, in structuring, negotiating, and managing complex multi-jurisdictional transactions in various sectors including healthcare, chemical, food, retail and fashion.
Federica also has extensive experience in "Golden Power" matters and is in charge of the artificial intelligence development project to serve the legal sector. 

Giacinto Zampetti, a member of the Antitrust & Trade Practice Group, advises on competition law, in particular, on horizontal and vertical restrictive agreements and abusive conduct as well as unfair business practices to the detriment of consumers. 
Giacinto regularly assists national and international clients in setting up and implementing selective distribution, franchising and subcontracting contracts in the fashion, automotive and food sectors. He also handles consumer law matters by assisting the Firm's clients, in particular, in drafting e-commerce terms and conditions of sale as well as reviewing advertising and promotional initiatives. Giacinto has represented several clients in proceedings before the Antitrust Authority (including the dawn raid phase) in cartel and abuse of economic dependence proceedings. He has also defended several operators in the digital world before the Competition and Market Authority in proceedings concerning unfair business practices and unfair terms against consumers. 

These promotions come amid the appointments of 131 new partners internationally, an increase of 12% over the previous year, demonstrating a clear and growing confidence in the Firm's continued success.
