Baker McKenzie has won "International Law Firm of the Year" at the Legal Era Indian Legal Awards 2023, in recognition of its work in supporting Indian multinationals as they expand their businesses overseas as well as international companies with their investments into India.
The Legal Era Awards recognize legal finesse, innovation and the accomplishments of legal practitioners, in-house teams and law firms. The winners were selected by an independent jury, in recognition of their outstanding performance in "leading teams with agility, innovation and international best practices, and servicing clients with transformative solutions."
Ashok Lalwani, head of Baker McKenzie's Global India Practice, said: "We are delighted to win this award, which recognizes the strength of the inbound and outbound services we provide to Indian and global clients. We believe it is our deep connection with the India market and the unique local insights and global perspectives we bring to clients, combined with our full transactional and advisory service offering, which sets us apart from other law firms."
Ashok continued, "I like to thank all of our 300 lawyers in our India Practice, who have worked tirelessly in the last year to help our clients navigate through the economic headwinds and have offered clients the best legal solutions to their most pressing legal and business issues."
