Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie has expanded its eDiscovery technology services through its offices around the world, with the implementation of an eDiscovery solution, cloud-based RelativityOne.

RelativityOne facilitates the management of large volumes of data quickly identifying key issues during disputes and investigations. It is also increasingly being used to support a host of other matters including privacy and cyber related incidents. The solution allows the Firm’s Global eDiscovery & Data Advisory practice, as well as legal teams, to manage multi-jurisdictional eDiscovery matters and offer an unparalleled service to clients across the network.

Relativity's SaaS product will enhance Baker McKenzie's ability to securely handle massive amounts of data and help its clients globally quickly respond to complex investigations, litigations, arbitrations and regulatory compliance matters. RelativityOne will also help the Firm protect its most sensitive data and reduce breach risks with proactive threat prevention, 24/7 monitoring, automated security processes, and leading compliance certifications.

Baker McKenzie will continue to host its on-premises solutions in its data centers in Chicago, São Paulo, Frankfurt, Singapore, Shanghai and Sydney, critically offering these solutions to clients in every region where the Firm has a presence, to better meet client needs in the complex global data privacy landscape.

Notably, Baker McKenzie is the only international law firm offering eDiscovery technology services at its three Chinese offices through an on premise version of the solution. This gives Baker McKenzie the unique capability to support its clients in Mainland China.

Bryant Isbell, managing director of the Global eDiscovery and Data Advisory practice said, “eDiscovery is a critical phase of any dispute or investigation. It enables us to support clients, be it in a single or multi-jurisdictional environment, by bringing together the right people, processes, and technology to deliver a truly end-to-end solution. Through leveraging these technologies into client mandates and utilizing analytics, we can create efficiencies and drive down cost for our clients whilst navigating these data challenges.”

He continued, “As the vast amount and complexity of data continues to grow, it is vital we strive to support the security of our data management strategies. Through RelativityOne, we will be able to better protect our data in this flexible platform using the power of automation and integrated artificial intelligence.”

Milton Cheng, Global Chair at Baker McKenzie said, “Technology is a key driver of the legal sector, and we continue to adopt best practice tools and approaches to transform the legal function to meet organizational and client demands, whilst improving how our services are delivered to increase efficiency, cost certainty and quality of legal counsel. The roll-out of RelativityOne underlines our commitment to apply innovative solutions to meet our clients' complex challenges.”

Peter Kim, Chief Sales Officer at Relativity said, “We’re thrilled about Baker McKenzie's decision to move to RelativityOne to enable secure, global collaboration on eDiscovery matters across the firm. We look forward to seeing the ways Baker McKenzie will innovate for their clients by leveraging the cloud.”
