Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie has advised the world's largest cruise port operator, Global Ports Holding (GPH) and the project company San Juan Cruise Port LLC on the Public-Private Partnership Agreement for the San Juan Cruise Port, Puerto Rico.

The project will elevate San Juan Cruise Port to world-class standards through an extensive 30-year, $425 million redevelopment project. The project will entail the repair, development, financing, operation and maintenance of the Cruise Port.

Baker McKenzie's team was, led by Projects Partners Mike Webster in London and Matthew Martin in North America.

Mike Webster commented, "Signing the PPP Agreement is an important step for GPH and for Puerto Rico in planning for the future after the severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the cruise industry. It has been very satisfying to work with GPH on this project, and help to overcome the complex considerations arising on a project of this scale and importance."
