Ulrich Weidemann was admitted as lawyer in Germany in 2004. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, he practiced capital markets and corporate finance law, inter alia, at several leading multinational law firms.

In addition to his legal career, Ulrich completed a training as a banker (Bankausbildung) in 1997. From 1998 to 2004, he was a lecturer at a banking academy in Germany.

Practice Focus

Ulrich represents issuers, underwriters, PE funds and other market participants across the entire capital markets / corporate finance value chain. His assignments include IPOs, capital increases, secondary offerings and bonds (including medium-term note programs) and other corporate financings. He also provides ongoing advice in connection with securities and stock exchange law issues (including insider trading law, ad-hoc publicity, takeover law, corporate governance as well as post-listing obligations), regulatory issues and capital markets litigation. The clients represented operate in various industries such as automotive, banking and finance, electronics, telecommunications, insurance, chemical, transportation, energy, real estate and food. In addition, Ulrich advises clients in M&A and Private Equity transactions.

Prior to joining the Firm he,

  • Advised Vitruvian Partners LLP and Linimed Gruppe GmbH in connection with the sale of Linimed Gruppe GmbH to GHO Capital Partners LLP (2018).

  • Advised Summit Partners and its subsidiary (zahneins Gruppe) in connection with the acquisition of dental practices in Germany (2018).

  • Advised Heimomed Heinze GmbH & Co. KG (and its shareholders) in relation to the sale to Atos Medical GmbH (2018).

  • Advised Crosslantic Capital Management in connection with the acquisition of a German mid-cap corporate (2018).

  • Advised investment banks in connection with the planned listing of Klöckner Pentaplast on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) (2016).

  • Advised Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH in connection with the initial public offering (IPO) of Azure Power Global Limited on NYSE (2016).

  • Advised Adidas AG in connection with the implementation of a worldwide employee share participation scheme (2015/2016).

  • Advised AXA, Crédit Agricole, Michelin, Orange, Peugeot, Sanofi, Société Générale, Vivendi and other corporates in connection with the implementation of employee share participation schemes (2014 through 2016).

  • Advised the North-American regional authority in connection with the planned issuance of bonds in Germany (2016).

  • Advised Joint Bookrunners with Deutsche Bank as global coordinator in connection with the offering of senior notes of DEA (2016).
