Biography

Ash is a partner in the Corporate M&A team in Baker McKenzie's London office. She joined the Firm in 2021, having spent over a decade at a Magic Circle firm. She advises on a wide range of corporate transactions including private M&A, joint ventures, reorganisations, listed company advice, corporate governance and company law.

In addition to client work, Ash is co-chair of the Firm's London race and ethnicity committee, BakerEthnicity. She is also a central member of the Firm's Global India Practice Group and sits on the Firm's Global India Steering Committee.

Practice Focus

Ash's practice focuses on complex cross-border M&A transactions and in the structuring of joint venture and equity arrangements for corporates and private equity clients, frequently in the infrastructure, telecoms and industrial sectors. Ash also frequently works with international investors investing into India as well as Indian corporates acquiring assets outside India.

  • Advising Aurelius on the sale of airline catering business LSG Asia Pacific, to a Japanese consortium including Kobe Bussan and Gourmet Kineya.
  • Advising Coats Group PLC on its acquisition by way of auction of OrthoLite Holdings LLC, the global market leader in open-cell foam insoles, for USD 770 million.
  • Advising Tata AutoComp on the acquisition of IAC Slovakia from the IAC Group.
  • Advising Tata AutoComp on the majority acquisition of Artifex from Jaguar Land Rover.
  • Advising UST, the Indian IT Solutions group, with the acquisition of a majority stake in automotive design and engineering firm, Italdesign Giugiaro, from Lamborghini.
  • Advising Coats Group PLC on its acquisition by way of auction of Texon, the global shoe components business, from Navis Capital Partners for USD 297 million.
  • Advising Coats Group PLC on its acquisition by way of auction of Rhenoflex, the global footwear solutions business, from a European private equity fund.
  • Advising Coats Group PLC on the divestment of its Opti Zips EMEA business to Aequita.
  • Advising PDS, the Indian fashion infrastructure company, on its strategic partnership with Authentic Brands Group for the operation of Ted Baker's business in Europe through the establishment of the Ted Baker Design Group.
  • Advising S&P Global on the sale of its engineering solutions business to KKR for USD 975 million.
  • Advising S&P Global on its USD 44 billion merger with IHS Markit.
  • Advising Cochlear, the Australian hearing implants business, on its acquisition of Oticon Medical from Demant for a reported valuation of USD 120 million.
  • Advising Saudi Aramco on its USD 15 billion joint venture investment in Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries’ oil-to-chemicals business (aborted).
  • Advising a listed Indian automotive parts manufacturer on its auction bid to acquire a global automotive parts engineering business from a UK private equity fund.
  • Advising Indian conglomerate, Essar, on the sale of its Asian ports business to Arcelor Mittal for USD 2.4 billion.
