Biography

Tom is a partner in the Corporate Department in Baker McKenzie's London office. Tom's practice comprises of public company advisory, public and private M&A and equity capital markets transactions. Tom also regularly acts on carve-outs and re-organisations involving public companies. Tom has extensive experience in the FIG sector having previously worked in-house at a bank and having undertaken a secondment to the Investment Banking (Legal) team at an investment bank as an associate. He is also regularly active in a number of other sectors including Energy, Resources & Infrastructure, Food & Beverage and TMT. He acts for both corporates and banks.

Practice Focus

Tom’s practice focus spans the life cycle of public companies. Throughout his career he has worked on a wide range of high profile public M&A transactions, including consortium, hostile and competitive offers, acting for a range of bidders and targets as well as financial advisors on cash confirmation exercises. He has extensive public company transaction experience including IPOs, demergers of London listed companies, several redomiciliations, complex public transactional structuring and a range of primary and secondary offerings. On the private M&A side, Tom regularly acts on complex transactions and has experience of executing deals across a range of key financial markets.

Tom has established a corporate governance practice which encompasses public company advisory for listed companies, and he is a key part of the Firm’s Sustainability and ESG team, leveraging his experience of assisting public companies with their reporting. Tom also regularly advises on corporate reorganisations and carve-outs for a range of listed multinational clients.
