Jorge Narvaez Hasfura is chair of the Firm's Latin America Value Added Tax Practice Group, and is also a member of the Global Value Added Tax Steering Committee. He has been recognized as a leading tax practitioner — particularly with respect to transfer pricing matters — by the International Tax Review survey, and has likewise been nominated to appear in the Guide to the World's Leading Transfer Pricing Advisers in 2003 and 2005. He has authored numerous publications on subjects related to his field — including the Commerce Clearing House's Transfer Pricing in Mexico and Mexican Tax Guide — and is also a frequent speaker at key seminars and conferences, including those organized by the International Fiscal Association.
Mr. Narvaez Hasfura focuses on the legal aspects of corporate income tax, transfer pricing, international tax planning and corporate reorganizations. He is proficient in tax rulings, tax treaties, personal income tax matters, estate planning, tax and customs litigation, as well as value-added tax. Mr. Narvaez Hasfura also advises clients on issues involving special taxes on products and services, single rate tax and customs duties.
