Iwo Małobęcki advises clients on Polish and EU competition law, with a focus on merger control, horizontal and vertical agreements, abuse of dominance, state aid, FDI screening and the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation and consumer law. He regularly supports clients in technology, telecommunications, infrastructure, energy, industrial and financial services matters, including complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, regulatory risk assessments and competition authority proceedings.

Prior to joining the Firm, Iwo's most important projects and transactions have included:

• Advised Nets Holding, one of Europe’s largest payment services providers, on its acquisition of shares and assets comprising the payment services business of paytec GmbH, a German payments company.
• Advised Synthos S.A. in European Commission merger control proceedings concerning its approximately USD 450 million acquisition of synthetic rubber operations in Schkopau, Germany, from Trinseo.
• Advised MidEuropa in merger control proceedings before the President of UOKiK in connection with its acquisition of Sage sp. z o.o., a Polish accounting software and services provider. 
• Advised Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A. in merger control proceedings before the President of UOKiK regarding its acquisition of 100% of the shares in Invia Group SE from European Bridge Travel a.s.
• Advised Asseco Poland S.A. and the Adam Góral Family Foundation in regulatory proceedings before competition authorities, including the European Commission, concerning the sale of treasury shares to Yukon Niebieski Kapital B.V.
• Advised Aquiline Capital Partners, a private investment firm headquartered in New York and London, in connection with its acquisition of VirtusLab Group, a software development company.
• Advised Nets Denmark A/S in merger control proceedings related to its acquisition of Polskie ePłatności S.A., strategic alliance with Przelewy24, and acquisition of Dotpay/eCard.
• Advised Global Compute Infrastructure LP in merger control proceedings concerning its acquisition of ATM S.A., one of the largest data center operators and communications infrastructure providers in Poland and CEE.
• Advised SigmaRoc plc in merger control proceedings relating to its acquisition of CRH plc’s European lime businesses in a transaction valued at approximately EUR 1 billion.
• Advised W.A.G payment solutions a.s., a wholly owned subsidiary of Eurowag, in merger control proceedings concerning its acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Grupa Inelo S.A.
