Biography

Charlotte Franklin is an associate in the Employment & Compensation Practice Group in Baker McKenzie’s Chicago office. She represents clients in a broad range of employment disputes through all phases of litigation. 

In law school, she served as a judicial extern for Judge Edmond E. Chang, and as a legal intern in the office of Chair Charlotte A. Burrows at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).  

Charlotte maintains an active pro bono practice, including filing amici briefs on behalf of Chicago Coalition for the Homeless in support of respondents in the U.S. Supreme Court case Johnson v. Grants Pass and on behalf of the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance in the Supreme Court of Louisiana.

Practice Focus

Charlotte focuses her practice on employment and labor disputes and investigations matters. She represents employers in state and federal courts and administrative agency proceedings against claims such as discrimination, harassment, failure to accommodate, wage and hour violations, trade secret matters, and breach of contract.

She has experience advising clients on best practices to comply with federal, state, and local employment laws throughout various stages of the employment relationship – from talent acquisition and onboarding to employee terminations and reductions in force. Charlotte’s practice spans a wide range of various industries, including consumer products and services, health care, technology, restaurants and hospitality, financial services, transportation and logistics, and manufacturing.
