
Kathinka Driessen
Biography
Kathinka Driessen is a legal director within the Amsterdam Real Estate department with 10 years of experience. She assists national and international companies such as investors, property developers and financial institutions in drafting, negotiating and executing transaction documentation.
Kathinka focuses on all aspects of commercial property transactions, (re)financing and project development. She works closely with the banking & finance and corporate teams and thus also assists with real estate finance and corporate real estate transactions in the widest sense.
Practice Focus
Kathinka focuses on commercial property transactions, such as logistical distribution centers, hotels, retail and data centers. She has extensive experience in the field of energy and advises on the acquisition and development of land for energy storage and (re)development of energy assets, among which solar parks, wind parks, battery parks and power plants.
Kathinka designs and prepares the structure of property-law rights for all types of properties and energy assets and has experience in creating the relevant rights in rem such as rights of (sub)leasehold and (sub)superficies.
Representative Legal Matters
- Advised ORPEA (as seller and lessee) on the sale and leaseback transaction concerning a portfolio of 32 retirement homes and one office building located in the Netherlands, with Achmea Dutch Health Care Property Fund (as purchaser and lessor).
- Advised Commerz Real on the acquisition of two newly constructed IntercityHotels in the Netherlands – a 115-room hotel in Leiden and one with 174 rooms in Breda – through two different subsidiaries of the Luxembourg fund Commerz Real Institutional European Hotel Fund.
- Advised Bank Hapoalim on the financing of the acquisition of the BKS parking portfolio by Crossroads Real Estate, Holland Immo Group and APCOA PARKING.
- Advised Astellas Pharma Europe on the strategic sale and transfer of a manufacturing plant including all production facilities, located in Meppel, the Netherlands, to Delpharm.
- Advised Daiwa House Group, one of Japan's leading construction companies, on the acquisition of Jan Snel Group, a company that specializes in modular construction, as part of Daiwa House Group’s continuing business expansion overseas.
- Advised EPH on the acquisition of the wholesale activities of PZEM and the Sloe power plant.
- Advised EPH on the acquisition of MaasStroom Power Plant and 50% stake in Enecogen.
- Advised Sunoco LP on the acquisition of several liquid fuels terminals in Amsterdam, Netherlands from Zenith Energy Netherlands.
- Advised a consortium of investors on a large floating solar project.
- Advised several companies that specialize in developing renewable energy on solar and wind park projects.
- Advised various hyper scale data center developers and investors in respect of acquisitions and developments on Agriport and in the Schiphol area.
- Advised a boutique for property investments on the acquisition and financing of a large shopping center.
