Biography

Megan joined the Firm as a trainee in March 2018. During her training contract, she completed seats in Dispute Resolution, Structured Capital Markets, and Employment. Megan also completed a six-month secondment with UBS where she assisted the internal employment legal team in advising on disciplinary and grievance issues and undertaking policy reviews. Megan qualified into the Employment Group in March 2020 and since then she has been on two further client secondments to Haleon and British Airways.

Practice Focus

Megan advises clients on both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters across a wide variety of sectors, including financial services, healthcare and transport. Megan has advised on large international transactions, domestic litigation and other domestic advisory work, and has particular experience across collective rights (including providing support on EWCs and trade union relations).

Representative Legal Matters

Since joining the Employment department, Megan has worked on a variety of matters including the following:

  • Litigation - Supporting clients in a wide array of litigation before the employment tribunal, including claims of a collective nature, across a range of sectors. In addition, Megan has experience of practicing before the appellate courts and preparing for High Court injunctions.
  • Industrial relations - Megan has provided a broad range of advice on both domestic and European industrial relations. Her domestic experience includes advising clients on the union recognition process, risks relating to inducing employees outside of the collective bargaining process, and how to manage both lawful and unlawful industrial action. Megan has also advised both a global technology company and a healthcare company on the new European Works Council Directive and general EWC relations.
  • Domestic advisory - Megan has provided day-to-day employment advice to UK clients, ranging from advice on collective processes relating to redundancy and TUPE, to managing disciplinaries, grievances and sickness absence management and providing support on high-profile senior exits. Megan has provided advisory support across a broad range of industries but has particular in-depth knowledge of supporting companies in the healthcare and transport sector (including companies with trade union or other employee representative presence).
  • Corporate transactions - Megan has advised on a number of large global corporate transactions, including supporting on carve-outs for a large healthcare business and engineering business. 
  • Redundancy - Worked on several large-scale redundancy projects, including advising on information and consultation requirements with union and employee representatives.
