Biography

Derk Christiaans is a legal director in Baker McKenzie's Amsterdam office and advises (multi)national companies on trade compliance, competition and EU law matters in various industries, including healthcare and life sciences, technology, energy and infrastructure, and consumer goods and retail.

Practice Focus

Derk advises clients on a wide variety of trade compliance, regulatory and competition law matters. He advises and assists clients with respect to compliance and enforcement issues relating to EU and Dutch sanctions, export controls, anti-boycott laws and trade compliance. In addition, he acts in matters involving merger control, cartels and vertical agreement issues. Derk has further acted for clients in various compliance investigations, both internally and involving government authorities.
