Baker McKenzie has advised Royal De Heus, a leading international animal nutrition company, on its acquisition of CJ Feed & Care, an animal feed company with operations in Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea, the Philippines, and Cambodia. [this 1st paragraph is a repetition of the abstract, so maybe it can be left out?]
This acquisition marks a significant step in De Heus’ long-term growth strategy. Since its entry into Vietnam in 2009, De Heus has steadily expanded its Asian footprint. The acquisition strengthens its market position in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia, while enabling direct access to South Korea and the Philippines: two key markets with strong growth potential in animal protein production.
The acquisition includes 17 feed mills and reflects De Heus’ commitment to supporting independent livestock and aquaculture farmers by providing access to high-quality nutrition, genetics, and technical support. It also contributes to the development of a competitive and resilient livestock farming sector.
The Baker McKenzie team was led by Mo Almarini, with the core team comprising Rebecca Kuijpers-Zimmerman, Casper Henschen, Max van Velthoven and Mandy Chin. The team also included colleagues from our offices in Vietnam, South Korea and the Philippines, among them Thi Thanh Le, Vu Quynh Trang, Ji Sun Hwang, Hankyul Lee, Charles Veloso and Sean James Borja.
