Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie announced today that Emmanuel Sala has joined the Firm as a Partner in Toronto, further expanding the Firm’s Tax capabilities in Canada.

Emmanuel has broad experience advising Canadian and foreign companies on complex domestic and international tax matters with respect to mergers, tax reorganizations, financing transactions and acquisitions. He also represents taxpayers at all stages of tax disputes with the Canadian tax authorities. Emmanuel has experience advising clients in multiple sectors and has notable experience in the energy, renewable energy, oil & gas and mining sectors. Emmanuel also advises domestic and foreign PE investment funds from creation through various multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Emmanuel earned his master's degree in Tax Law from Université de Sherbrooke in 2005 and a Certificate in Mining Law from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2013. In addition to being a lawyer, Emmanuel is also a chartered professional accountant (CPA). He teaches at the Master of Laws (taxation) program jointly sponsored by HEC Montréal and the Faculty of Law of the University of Montreal.
