The Supervisor - Global Client Pursuits (GCP), Americas will work as part of the End-to-End (E2E) Centers of the Global Client Pursuits (GCP) team, the successful candidate will supervise junior pitch team coordinators to deliver high quality pitches and proposals for clients.

The supervisor will be part of a global team that operates 24/5, occasionally on weekends and public holidays, to deliver seamless proposal support to Baker McKenzie offices worldwide. He/she will play an integral role in winning choice mandates for the Firm by helping respond efficiently and insightfully to client RFP requests and manage the upkeep of pitching tools and resources.

The global GCP team is undergoing a dynamic transformation and works with regional expert teams in North America, Asia Pacific and EMEA and "follow the sun" shared service centers in Manila, Tampa, Buenos Aires, and Belfast.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with, and at the direction of, the GCP Manager, Americas:
  • Supervise coordinators that will primarily serve the Americas region (integrating North America and Latin America) in the production of pitches, bids, proposals, RFIs, RFPs, capability statements, and placemats, in both English and Spanish language
  • Act as primary backup for pitch request intake and case queue monitoring when intake coordinators go on leave
  • Lead pitch writing and delivery for the Firm's key pitch opportunities, working closely with the pitch expert and center teams. This includes serving as the project lead on key pitches, managing the proposals process from start to finish (writing and project management)
  • Lead by example the delivery of level 2 and level 3 pitches (medium to low complexity), working closely with coordinators and specialists, and taking accountability for quality and review prior to submission to client
  • Assign appropriate coordinators using ServiceNow case management system, transferring cases to relevant teams, logging pitch details in trackers, and facilitate daily hand-offs between shifts to ensure follow the sun coverage
  • Ensure high quality standards consistent with the Baker McKenzie Style Guide, pitch templates, design guidelines, and client-centric instructions
  • Conduct opportunity assessment discussions with other leaders, proactively develop and manage client-centric key messages/content and marshal resources to ensure that proposals of superior quality are delivered on time
  • Participate as needed on post-pitch debrief meetings feeding back key points to the business to facilitate further learning and development
  • Collaborate with Global Client Pursuits colleagues worldwide to follow the sun on pitches where needed and share best practice
  • Become deeply familiar with Baker McKenzie resources and team, leveraging the proposal process for bids/pitches and panel proposals for high value and key client opportunities
  • Team with GCP colleagues worldwide to deliver on pitches where needed following the sun and sharing best practice
  • Collaborate with BDMC professionals worldwide including client managers, industry and practice group BDMs and in-market BDMs to leverage client intelligence, practice and industry know how, case studies and credentials
  • Engage with other Professional Services teams e.g. pricing strategy, legal project management and knowledge to deliver profitable and added value solutions
  • Collaborate on projects involving strategy and process to continually assist in the creation of new operational process improvements across the team
  • Generate and analyze daily and monthly request volume, team utilization metrics, SLAs, client satisfaction survey results, win/loss rates and post-pitch client feedback to help team and stakeholders understand ROI and where we should focus our efforts
  • Be a change champion, while being an advocate for the team's physical and emotional well-being

Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Fluent in English and/or Portuguese
  • Some relevant supervisory experience, especially in a virtual and multi-cultural environment
  • MS Office, especially PowerPoint
  • Experience with ServiceNow or other case management system is preferred
  • Organisation, project management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Extensive experience in BD/ communications in the professional services, with significant hands-on experience in proposal development is a huge advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with/manage remote teams of partners, lawyers and BD/marketing professionals
  • Persuasive and diplomacy skills; ability to deal autonomously with highly intelligent and demanding stakeholders at all levels; manage multiple pitch requests, assess opportunities and provide direction
