The Sustainability Operations & BDMC Coordinator will work with the Associate Director - Sustainability Operations & BDMC Lead, Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and Sustainability team and assist with the implementation of the global sustainability strategy and service line in order to maximize long-term growth.

The role is an integral part of the sustainability function, focusing on operations, BD, marketing and communications, executing marketing and BD projects, initiatives and processes, and coordinating the service line's operational activities. This role will oversee the development of client-facing sustainability initiatives and materials, monitor progress against planned priorities and improve the profile of the group - contributing to establish the Firm as an industry leader in sustainability.

This is a hands-on position requiring the provision of proactive and reliable services.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of materials to facilitate business planning and work with the Sustainability Operations & BDMC Lead to implement the global sustainability service line strategy in a consistent manner throughout the Firm; track progress against the business plan and in consultation with the Sustainability Operations & BDMC Lead, proactively notify and follow up with accountable stakeholder as needed
  • Help identify new business opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Assist with maintaining our client offering and experts mapping up to date
  • Provide assistance with the creation and maintenance of seamless internal and external communications channels and marketing collaterals; provide quality assurance
  • Work with the Sustainability Operations & BDMC Lead and liaise with the Analytics and Reporting teams to develop relevant KPI reports to monitor revenue and performance of the sustainability service line
  • Collaborate with the Events team on the execution of an impactful client events program; assist with the team’s sponsorship activities; prepare post-campaign metrics reports
  • Working with the Sustainability Operations & BDMC Lead and the coordinator of the Firm’s NGO sponsorships (WEF, WBCSD, UNGC, etc.), assist with the implementation of our NGO partnership strategy
  • Assist the Sustainability Operations & BDMC Lead with reviewing Directories and Awards submissions prepared by the Directories team; track all rankings and awards
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure compelling website and digital media presence; identify relevant content for social media channels; work with key stakeholders to develop their own social media channels to promote the Firm, the sustainability service line and their practice
  • Ensure the Firm's brand and our sustainability visual identity is maintained
  • Support the organization of internal sustainability meetings, town halls, as well as sustainability service line meetings at the Annual Meeting and regional meetings (as applicable)
  • In collaboration with the sustainability team, execute the team’s internal communications strategy and update the sustainability BakerWorld site with relevant materials
  • Maintain the group’s internal distribution lists, calendar and client mailing lists
  • Perform other duties as assigned to develop and drive our sustainability strategy

Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in marketing, communications, business, or related field
  • Experience in business development, marketing, or other relevant field preferably in legal or other professional services environment
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills, with an aptitude for creating engaging and innovative content
  • Collaborative and team player and a positive "can-do" approach
  • Self-motivated and independent, able to work with minimum supervision
  • Well-developed and sophisticated organization, communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to relate to and gain the confidence of people at all levels within an organization, as well as an ability to build strong relationships and work in a collaborative environment
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong project management skills and client service orientation; ability to work on multiple tasks with competing deadlines
  • Strong computer skills (including Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, or similar)
  • Strong personal sense of integrity and quality standards, high level of discretion, diplomacy and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
  • High level of energy and persistence, and understanding of the importance of delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external clients
