Description
The Rates Analysis Analyst will execute the accurate set-up of rates in the Firm's systems as a critical component of the Rates and Client Maintenance Process.
Responsibilities:
- Review and Calculate new Timekeeper rates for Ebilling (Transitioned) and Non-Ebilling (Transitioned) billing rates based on the underlying client agreement for Clients
- Execute Client's set-up rates in SAP in place as required by the client and assist the Billing team
- Prepare Volume Discount Tracking and Application between SAP and the client systems based on client's agreement
- Perform Client's rates onboarding to the global transition to the team
- Maintain Client Profile’s Fee Arrangements
- Conduct Matter Checking Maintenance for SAP Set-up
- Exercise a required degree of tact and diplomacy when dealing with others and in handling sensitive issues
- Identify the most efficient way of ensuring client pricing information (for client agreements) is recorded to support the Billing team.
- Review current client agreements and identify improvements to be made to current pricing set-ups in SAP
- Ensure that the Firm’s central repository properly reflects the actual pricing used for Billing
- Support to reduce billing rejections due to pricing errors
- Work with colleagues to develop new best practices, identify new efficiencies per a culture of continuous improvement, analyze gaps in performance, and recommend methods of intervention
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in business administration, commerce, finance, liberal arts, or related courses
- Prior experience in a billing or pricing role is an advantage
- General understanding of accounting or finance principles as well as the specific law firm or professional service accounting structure, environment, and requirements
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge and experience of financial systems (SAP preferred but not required)
- Have the confidence to escalate and ask questions, especially when being asked to deviate from standard processes
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines
- Able to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands, including learning new skills when required
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Keen attention to detail and effective organizational skills
- Able to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction, follow up on own initiative
- Flexible to work a reasonable shifting schedule is required
