The Coordinator - Directories, Awards & Surveys will join a growing team responsible for drafting and coordinating Baker McKenzie's directory and awards submissions to Chambers, Legal 500, FT Innovative Lawyers and other providers globally to raise the Partners' profiles, celebrate the work of Baker McKenzie and reinforce the Firm's leading global brand.


Working with the central dedicated Global Directories Service Team and Lead Partners responsible for submissions, draft important documents which highlight the Firm's work over the past 12 months for both law firm ranking purposes and for awards opportunities. This includes:

  • Working with Lead Partners on initial scoping including strategic review of opportunities and target setting
  • Assessment of the Practice's significant client work and other achievements that make the practice stand out
  • Drafting submissions to a consistently high standard, on time and to the specified requirements of each directory
  • Providing recommendations anchored on submissions best practices on deal and referee selection to Partners

Relationship management with Chambers, Legal 500, FT Innovative Lawyers and other providers globally for the Firm's offices and practice/industry groups.

  • Be first point of contact for Chambers and Legal 500 on all Firm needs
  • Track client referee response rates, alert of low response rates
  • Liaison with researchers and organizing interviews with directory/ researchers
  • On occasion, help prepare Lead Partners for interviews

Increase efficiency and apply best practice across all submissions so that the Firm achieves optimal outcomes; produce high-quality, consistent directory submissions in an efficient and timely manner

  • Implement, enhance and maintain the global submissions strategy
  • Consistently apply best practice to ensure better quality submissions which are delivered on time
  • Create and maintain a client referee map which cuts across practices and offices to reduce client feedback fatigue

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in marketing, communications, business or related fields
  • Strong related work experience
  • Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
  • Strong client service orientation, consistently works to a high standard and looks for ways to improve current working practices and processes
  • Professional curiosity and the confidence to work with people at every level in the Firm
  • Highly organized individual with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in professional services marketing and in working for a global law firm
  • An enthusiastic, proactive attitude, with great self-motivation, team spirit and a passion for dealing with people
  • Comfortable working across multiple cultures and time zones in a matrix organization
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Business travel may be required for this role
