Biography

Christine Streatfeild is a partner in the Washington, DC office. She currently serves as co-chair of the Firm’s Global Trade Remedies Practice and Americas chair of the Firm’s Consumer Goods & Retail Sector, where she delivers strategic counsel to clients navigating complex international trade challenges. Christine is a trusted advisor on import remedy and unfair competition matters, including forced labor investigations, antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings, safeguard actions, and national security-related tariffs under Section 232. She also represents clients in Section 337 disputes involving intellectual property and trade secrets.

Christine regularly advocates before the US International Trade Commission (ITC), the US Department of Commerce (DOC), and in both state and federal courts, bringing deep regulatory insight and litigation experience to every engagement.

Before joining Baker McKenzie, Christine held roles at the Office of the United States Trade Representative. She also served as an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University’s Krieger School, where she taught Global Trade, Policy, and Competition.

Christine has been a member of the USMCA Dispute Settlement Panels Roster since 2019 (initially under NAFTA), reaffirmed for the 2026 term.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Representing a renewable energy developer in multiple trade remedies actions under Section 201, antidumping/countervailing duties investigations, and numerous federal court challenges.
  • Represented a US chemical producer in a successful antidumping duty petition covering four countries.
  • Defended a global wine and spirits manufacturer in an antidumping duty investigation, resulting in a no-injury final phase finding by the US International Trade Commission (and no orders issued).
  • Representing a global beauty products manufacturer in a trade secret theft case.
  • Represented complainant in Section 337 trade secrets theft case that resulted in a limited exclusion order.
