Biography

Lucy is a senior associate in Baker McKenzie's Real Estate Department and joined the Firm as an associate in September 2016. She is qualified both in China and England and Wales. She worked for the People's Insurance Company of China (Property and Casualty Company Limited) in China as an in-house lawyer between 2003 and 2008 and worked for a leading Chinese law firm's London office from 2013 until she joined Baker McKenzie.

Practice Focus

Lucy acts for a wide range of multinational clients with a focus on Chinese corporate clients, including property investment companies, investment banks and corporate occupiers. She practices in all aspects of real estate law, in particular, advising on sales and acquisitions and real estate finance. She also manages the property aspects of corporate transactions.

  • Acting for a Chinese company to acquire shares of an English developer in relation to three development projects in three different cities in North England. 
  • Acting for southeast Asian syndicate lenders on the iconic multimillion development finance project of Battersea Power Station.
  • Advising a Chinese bank on an acquisition finance to a Chinese corporate borrower in respect of an office building in the City of London.
  • Acting for a UK hospital and investors to negotiate a project with a Chinese developer to build a hospital and eldercare-themed community in China.
  • Acting for a Chinese fashion brand on lettings of its European flagship shop within a well-known shopping centre in London.
  • Acting for a HK fund to acquire a SPV holding 72 retail properties across the UK.
  • Acting for Mapletree Investments in respect of UK student accommodation acquisitions.
  • Acting for an Israeli investor to acquire a prime hotel in Central London.
