Biography
Practice Focus
Jing has a broad commercial and regulatory practice, with focus on international trade (import and export), complex corporate and commercial contract matters, and compliance with Canada’s foreign investment and competition laws.
As part of her international trade practice, Jing advises regularly clients on Canadian sanctions, export control, customs, audit, and other legal matters affecting the cross-border movement of goods. Her experience extends to advising companies on compliance with Canada's new forced labour transparency law from a corporate responsibility perspective.
As part of her general commercial and regulatory practice, Jing advises clients on product regulation, provincial recycling obligations, licensing and permitting requirements for doing business in Canada across a variety of industries, with deep experience in the pharmaceutical and health sector. She also has experience with complex corporate and commercial contract matters, including international franchising and distribution transactions.
Jing also has experience advising domestic and international clients on compliance with the Competition Act and Investment Canada Act.
Jing also advises on Canadian advertising and marketing laws.

- Advised Canadian and international importers on tariff mitigation measures.
- Developed Canadian sanctions compliance programs for global extractive resource and manufacturing companies.
- Advised leading media company on marketing and advertising issues in high-risk regulatory product markets.
- Led commercial contract negotiations on behalf of a leading biotechnology company.
- Advised various multinational companies on compliance with Canadian export controls for SaaS, Cloud and related technology transfers.
- Advised leading security technology company on compliance with Canada’s controlled goods program.
- Advised Sika AG on competition and foreign investment review aspects of its EUR 5.3 billion acquisition of the MBCC Group, and the divestment of MBCC's admixtures business in the United States, Canada, the UK, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand to Cinven.
- Provide ongoing advice to major food manufacturers regarding their food regulatory and marketing requirements.
- Advised Northland Properties Corporation on competition matters and filings in connection with its acquisition of the Grouse Mountain Resort.
- Advised an international telecommunications company on foreign investment filings and approvals in connection with their establishment of a new business in Canada.
