Biography

David is a mid-level associate in Baker McKenzie's Employment & Compensation practice based in London. He joined the Firm in 2019.

Practice Focus

David advises international organisations on both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters across a wide variety of sectors, including pharmaceutical, retail, technology, banking and financial services. David advises on employment-related disputes, provides strategic support on complex HR enquiries, and coordinates global employment projects as well as global transactions including M&As, carve-outs and outsourcing.

David recently spent 7 months on secondment to the legal team of a pharmaceutical client acting as "in-house" employment counsel advising on complex employment law and HR matters and coordinating projects across Europe.

Representative Legal Matters

David's recent experience includes:

  • Advising on strategy and process across a wide variety of HR and employment law issues across EMEA as part of a number of global employment law retainers, ranging from sensitive disciplinary and grievance procedures, to redundancies, including collective redundancy requirements as part of global restructuring projects

  • Coordinating cross-border projects including global multibillion-pound acquisitions and restructuring exercises

  • Providing guidance in relation to the handling of investigations into harassment and other misconduct

  • Defending various employment claims including a cross-jurisdiction discrimination and unfair dismissal claim in the Court of Appeal, and a high value discrimination, harassment and whistleblowing claim in the Employment Tribunal

  • Advising in relation to restrictive covenant and breach of confidentiality disputes
