Justin Salkeld has significant experience in various aspects of real estate law. He is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales. Prior to joining the Firm’s London office, he coordinated the global real estate practice in a competing law firm.

Practice Focus

Justin Salkeld is highly experienced in matters concerning operational and investment real estate assets, including planning, acquisition and disposal, development, structuring, leasing and financing, and joint ventures. He regularly advises banks and borrowers on financing investment and development real estate. Justin also acts for a number of investors and operators in connection with the acquisition, development, operation and disposal of hotel assets.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Acting for an overseas company on the disposal of a hotel and linked joint venture development in Birmingham for GBP12 million
  • Acting for Golden Tulip (now Premier Inn Hotels) on the acquisition and development of various new build hotels in the UK
  • Acting for a BVI company on a restructuring and subsequent GBP65 million loan facility in relation to a hotel in London.
  • Acting for Anglo Irish Bank on a GBP200 million loan facility secured over a portfolio of 100 properties in connection with the restructuring of a UK borrower
  • Acting for Bank of Scotland in connection with a GBP40 million loan facility for the acquisition of a former MOD development site.
  • Acting for GMAC Commercial Mortgage Bank Europe Plc (now Capmark Bank Europe Plc) in connection with a GBP33 million investment and development loan facility relating to a portfolio of buildings in Reading.
