Biography

Dr. Astrid Ruppelt joined Baker McKenzie in 2019 after having worked for a renown international law firm for seven years. In 2015 she qualified as a certified tax consultant (Steuerberater). Since 2013 she holds a Ph.D. In 2011 she passed her second state examination and was admitted to the German bar. In 2009 she passed her first state examination in 2009. She studied law in Mannheim and Regensburg with focus on corporate law and tax law.

Practice Focus

Astrid has extensive experience in advising national and cross-border tax matters in the context of M&A and private equity. She advises in financing and capital markets transactions as well as corporate restructurings, internal reorganizations, general tax planning and tax disputes.

Before joining Baker McKenzie, Astrid was involved in several notable transactions including:

  • Advised Deutsche Beteiligungs AG on the acquisition of Cartonplast Group GmbH.

  • Advised Continental AG on the acquisition of Kathrein Automotive GmbH.

  • Advised Goldman Sachs International, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, et al on KME AG's senior secured notes offering.

  • Advised Warner Music Group on the adquisition of EMP Merchandising Handelsgesellschaft mbH.

  • Advised Albemarle on the divestiture of Chemetall Group to BASF.
