Cathrin advises Swiss and multinational clients on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, general corporate law matters, commercial law matters as well as banking and finance matters.

Cathrin has a particular focus on Japan-outbound transactions, having advised Japanese corporates on a number of multi-jurisdictional transactions and completed several secondments to the Firm’s Tokyo office.

• Advised Hitachi on the USD 11 billion acquisition of ABB's power grids business in over 100 jurisdictions (the largest ever acquisition by a Japanese industrial company).
• Advised AURELIUS on its USD 215 million acquisition of Landis+Gyr’s EMEA business, covering operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
• Advised Novonesis on its EUR 1.5 billion acquisition of dsm-firmenich’s share of the Feed Enzyme Alliance, a strategic transaction expanding Novonesis’ position in animal biosolutions.
• Advised Sumitomo Rubber Industries on the sale of Lonstroff AG to NCM Investment Fund V Coéperatief U.A.
• Advised VAT Group as co-lead on its approximately CHF 110 million acquisition of Atonarp, a Japan-based technology company specializing in real-time molecular profiling for semiconductor and industrial applications.
• Advised Marvell Technology on its acquisition of Polariton Technologies, a Swiss developer of high-speed silicon photonics technology.
• Advised VEON and Verny Capital on the sale of Beeline Kyrgyzstan to Eldik Bank, a cross-border transaction involving English, Kyrgyz and Swiss law.
• Advised the Shareholders of EWM Global on the Sale to TMF Group.
• Advised AGIC Capital on its investment into EULITHA AG.
• Advised PSP Swiss Property on the purchase of a prime property in Geneva in a share deal.
• Advised South Pole Holding AG on the minority investment by Temasek and Salesforce Ventures.
• Advised edyn hospitality group on its acquisition of Hotel Ascot, Zurich.
