Tamara Mackay-Temesy
Biography
Tamara is an associate in the Data Protection and Cyber team. She has experience advising clients across online media, music, e-commerce, financial services, technology, education and other sectors on a variety of data protection, privacy, product counselling and direct marketing matters.
Tamara has experience in legal design, including winning the World Commerce & Contracting EMEA Personal Initiative Award for her work implementing legal design with lawyers and with clients. Legal design applies established design thinking techniques to co-create stakeholder-focused solutions to legal issues, including communicating legal information in more engaging and accessible ways.
Practice Focus
Tamara's experience is in data protection and privacy, across a range of sectors. Tamara is knowledgeable in helping multinational companies navigate the GDPR, and in implementing GDPR audit and remediation projects.
She has also assisted with regulatory data protection investigations.
Representative Legal Matters
- Advised on a significant investigation by the ICO into the use of facial recognition technology in large public-private spaces.
- Advised a large Middle Eastern bank in relation to its global GDPR compliance project, including auditing, reporting and remediation.
- Advising a variety of consumer-facing online platforms on data protection matters, in particular, on complying with transparency requirements and cookie compliance.
