Leif B. King is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Palo Alto office and is Head of M&A/Corporate for the Firm's California offices. Previously, he was the head of the corporate/M&A practice in another leading law firm. He represents clients in connection with a wide variety of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, activist investor situations, recapitalizations, spin-offs and minority investments. Leif regularly advises public and private companies on corporate, corporate governance and securities law compliance issues.
Leif has been featured as a Dealmaker of the Week and Dealmaker of the Month in The American Lawyer, and he has been selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business every year since 2008. The Daily Journal has named him several times, including in 2016, as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in California and previously recognized him as one of the Top 20 Under 40 lawyers in the state. In 2013, he was recognized by The Recorder as an Attorney of the Year. He has received two California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year awards from California Lawyer magazine and the Daily Journal. Leif also has repeatedly been selected for inclusion in IFLR1000 and The Best Lawyers in America. He was recognized in 2016 as a BTI Client Service All-Star for providing outstanding client service.

Advised Tencent Holdings Ltd. on its acquisition of Funcom NV.
Advised the majority shareholders of MagicLab, which owns Badoo, Bumble, Chappy, and Lumen, on the pending majority stake sale to funds managed by Blackstone, valuing the company at approximately USD 3 billion.

Advised Broadcom Corporation on numerous matters, including its USD 37 billion sale to Avago Technologies Limited; its USD 3.7 billion acquisition of NetLogic Microsystems, Inc.; USD 147 million sale of certain Ethernet controller-related assets and non-exclusive intellectual property licenses to QLogic Corp.; USD 316 million acquisition of Beceem Communications Inc.; and USD 123 million acquisition of Teknovus, Inc.
Represented Cadence Design Systems Inc. in its USD 170 million acquisition of Jasper Design Automation, Inc.
Assisted Calera Capital and its portfolio companies in the leveraged acquisitions of United Site Services Inc.; Direct General Corporation and IPS Corporation; Specialty Brands, Inc., a subsidiary of Tyson Foods, Inc.; Cornerstone Nutritional Labs, LLC; Bariatrix Products; and Setco, Tubed Products, LLC and O.G. Dehydrated, subsidiaries of McCormick & Company, Incorporated.
Advised Con-way Inc. on its acquisition of Transportation Resources, Inc. and the sale of Menlo Worldwide Forwarding, Inc. to United Parcel Service, Inc.
Assisted DocuSign, Inc. in its acquisition of the Trusted Documents and Transactions unit of Keynectis S.A.
Acted in part of the special committee of the board of directors of Ellation, Inc. in the acquisition by Otter Media Holdings, LLC of the remaining stake in Ellation it did not already own.
Advised EMC Corporation on its acquisition of RSA Security Inc.
Advised on EnergySolutions in its USD 1.1 billion acquisition by a subsidiary of private equity firm Energy Capital Partners II, LLC.
