Biography

Roxane is an associate in the Employment & Compensation Department of Baker McKenzie's London office. She joined the Firm as a trainee in September 2019. As part of her training contract, Roxane spent time in the Corporate Reorganisations, Employment, Tax and Intellectual Property & Technology departments. She also completed a secondment to Tapestry where she undertook a combination of Corporate, Tax and EU work. She subsequently qualified as an associate and was admitted as a solicitor in September 2021 and now advises on employment law matters across a wide variety of sectors, as well as on international deals and multijurisdictional projects. Roxane has completed two client secondments to Meta’s in-house employment team, as well as an international secondment to Baker McKenzie’s Amsterdam office.

Practice Focus

Roxane advises international organisations on both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters across a variety of sectors, including tech, pharmaceutical, retail, media, banking and financial services. Roxane has advised on a range of global employment projects including restructurings, M&As and carve-outs, as well as domestic day-to-day advisory work, providing support on employment-related disputes and complex HR enquiries.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Assisted with a wide array of employment litigation matters, including claims of discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal, and preparing for a High Court injunction in respect of a breach of restrictive covenants.
  • Advised on a number of large global corporate transactions, including assisting Emerson Electric Co with the international employment aspects of its sale of its Climate Technologies business for USD 14 billion to Blackstone, which covered over 20,000 employees across 44 jurisdictions.
  • Provided a wide variety of day-to-day employment advice with a domestic and international focus under a retainer with a global technology company, including disciplinary proceedings, grievances and sickness absence.
  • Provided support with complex data subject access requests, as well as advising on ad hoc data privacy matters such as drafting privacy policies and data protection impact assessments.
  • Advised global technology client on strategy and process on a large-scale global redundancy, including individual and collective redundancy requirements in over 20 jurisdictions.
  • Coordinated and advised on settlement negotiations in redundancy exercise of over 100 employees as part of UK restructuring for a banking and financial services client.
