Rabiya Kader
Biography
Rabiya Kader is a counsel in the Transactional Group, advising clients on end-to-end intellectual property strategies, including protection, portfolio management and commercialization. As a registered US Patent Attorney and former Global Head of Intellectual Property, Rabiya has extensive experience leading global IP strategy across patents, trademarks and copyrights in highly regulated industries, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, supplements and consumer healthcare.
Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Rabiya served as Global Head of IP at a consumer healthcare company.
Practice Focus
Rabiya Kader focuses her practice on transactional intellectual property matters, advising clients on the structuring and execution of IP-intensive commercial agreements and business transactions. She regularly supports licensing, collaboration, and development agreements, as well as IP due diligence and risk assessment in connection with strategic transactions. Drawing on her experience leading global IP strategy, Rabiya helps clients align intellectual property assets with broader business objectives, including commercialization, market expansion, and competitive positioning.
Representative Legal Matters
- Provided IP support on the carve-in and subsequent sale of Opella, Sanofi’s consumer healthcare business. Lead IP attorney on the creation of joint venture Onduo, between Sanofi and Verily, formerly Google Life Sciences. Lead IP attorney for Sanofi’s acquisition of Qunol.
