Biography

Roxana has an extensive educational background in civil procedural law. She has a vast experience following proceedings before Poder Judicial as well as arbitration courts, especially with civil law and government contracts. Her focus leans towards civil responsibility, contractual and commercial controversies and conflicts related to construction contracts and government purchases of goods and services. Lately, her experience has been enriched thanks to counseling in expropriation causes in both trial and arbitration. Additionally, she also has a solid international experience developed through her work at Estudio Echecopar in Barcelona, Spain in Civil and Litigation Practice Groups.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Successful defense of the interests of an important construction company to obtan an arbitrastion award that ruled for the modification of a contractual Price adjustment formula, which meant a payment of more than S/. 4 million.

  • Successful defense of the interests of an important construction company in an arbitration involving a discussion of payments due to the modification of the Technical File of the project and additional expenses for road traffic control and safety, which meant a payment of more than USD 3.5 million to the company.

  • Successful defense of the interests of an agricultural company that claimed more than USD 3 million to the Peruvian government as fair price to be paid for the expropriation of an agricultural land.

  • Successful defense of an American company that acted as broker to several foreign companies in an arbitration procedure that concluded with an award that ordered the defendant to pay large compensatory damages.

  • Successful defense of an agricultural company in several lawsuits filed against some Agricultural Reform beneficiaries of real estate properties adjacent to the expansion zone of Jorge Chavez International Airport. Those rulings allowed said Agricultural Society to be considered as the only passive subject on the expropriation arbitration procedure initiated some years later by the Peruvian State.
