Biography
Alexandra Badillo is an international trade attorney with 5 years of experience in trade and customs consulting and management for private sector organizations. Prior to joining Baker Mckenzie, Alexandra worked as an international trade and customs attorney for other leading Mexican law firms.
Alexandra has also advised international companies in diverse industries such as automotive, chemical, food, textile and manufacturing.
Practice Focus
Alexandra focuses her practice on international trade and customs transactions, with extensive experience in IMMEX authorizations, antidumping procedures, regulatory matters, such as Mexican official standards and authorizations, litigation, verifications of origin, administrative procedures, rules of origin, export controls and import and export regime.
She also has experience in automotive, chemical, food, textile and manufacturing sectors.
Representative Legal Matters
- Advised in 3 verification of origin proceedings of a cosmetics company with worldwide reach, and participated in the preparation of the legal defense in connection with the denials of origin issued by the SAT.
- Advised an automotive parts manufacturer in an audit procedure initiated by the SAT and prepared the legal defense against the resolution by which it was determined that they did not comply with virtual returns.
- Advised a world's leading manufacturer of braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles in relation with management and organization of various foreign trade procedures, such as IMMEX program authorization requests, productive procedures analysis and bond guarantee requests and authorizations.
- Advised a world's leading manufacturer of tires in an anti-dumping proceeding.
- Preparation and filing of customs and foreign trade paperwork necessary for Artistic Milliners to start textile manufacturing operations in Mexico.
- Participated in the preparation of the legal defense of Bombas Goulds to request the refund of taxes caused by the export of products.
- Participated in the preparation and filing of Bosch’s IMMEX program application.
