Last night, the seventh event in Baker McKenzie’s FeMale Leaders series took place in Frankfurt. The event was hosted by Partners Katharina Stueber and Katja Haeferer. Around 125 successful and inspiring women attended the event location at "Kreisler Frankfurt“, featuring an atmospheric Christmas market with culinary specialties and a view of the Frankfurt skyline.

A highlight of the evening was the keynote by Jeanine Morina, Head of IT at ING Germany. Under the headline “Leadership rethought - between career, family and courage to take on a new role,” she shared her experiences as a career changer in a management position. She spoke about modern leadership approaches, taking on responsibility in new roles, and balancing management tasks and family life. Inspired by these insights, the participants took the opportunity for power networking.

The aim of the FeMale Leaders initiative is to steadily increase the proportion of female representation in leadership positions. Thanks to Katharina Stueber and Katja Haeferer, Baker McKenzie regularly brings together women from the business world for exclusive networking events. While the Christmas market was exclusively for female attendees, participants in the FeMale Leaders summer events can nominate a male ally to join the event supporting the cause. With this innovative format, Baker McKenzie is setting new standards for inclusion, diversity and equity (ID&E) under the motto “Shaping a better future, together.” The initiative was first launched in Frankfurt and has since been successfully expanded to Baker McKenzie offices in Munich, Switzerland and Austria.

For their outstanding commitment and leadership in promoting gender diversity, Katharina Stueber and Katja Haeferer were presented with the “ID&E Impact Award 2025” at Baker McKenzie’s Annual Meeting this autumn. The award recognizes their commitment to empowering female talent through the FeMale Leaders initiative. In June of this year, Baker McKenzie was honored at the Women in Business Law EMEA Awards 2025 as “Germany Firm of the Year” in the Gender Diversity category, in recognition of the FeMale Leaders initiative, among other things. This award underscores Baker McKenzie’s commitment to gender equality and the advancement of women to leadership positions in the legal industry.
